Phoebe Product Update
A Universal Query Engine that makes diverse data sources more accessible to agents, a UI Redesign with light mode, and more — here’s what we shipped this month.
🧠 Universal Query Engine
Our new Universal Query Engine (UQE) makes it significantly easier for agents to retrieve data across varied observability tools.
When querying large scale observability data directly, agents often fail to find the most useful evidence. Many observability tools use custom, lightly documented query languages and lack clearly defined schemas.
With UQE agents can query different sources in a consistent way and use an upfront understanding of the data schemas within each. It enables them to find specific evidence more successfully, and adapt more easily to new data sources.
🔍 Slack Search Improvements
We shipped improvements to the way Phoebe investigations use Slack message history from alert and incident channels. Slack history contains high-signal information such as past remediations, deployment notices, temporary mitigations, handoff notes, and links to relevant docs or PRs.
💬 Improved Analyst Chat
We’ve rebuilt the chat experience for the incident analyst. It can now draw upon context beyond the given incident, such as structured historic data and the same agent tools used during investigations. This enables users to dig deeper and maximise lessons learned post incident.
🎨 User Interface Redesign
We're excited for users to try the UI redesign shipping this week. Phoebe now has light mode! As investigations can be information-dense, the goal was to reduce cognitive load through clearer visual hierarchy, better typography, and a more consistent layout across alerts, investigations and post-mortem analysis. The result is a more intuitive experience.
Alongside these improvements, we rebuilt the frontend around a unified component library and design system, enabling faster iteration while maintaining consistency across the product.
